Kinesthetic Guitar arose from the experience gained through years of  working with students with Down's syndrome and other physical disabilities.  It utilizes the guitar to target fine motor development and is written in a concise easy to understand way.  The same qualities that make it beneficial to students with physical challenges make it especially well suited for use with very young students.  The book is partnered with a DVD which guides the student through the material.

What benefits does guitar give to the many students who study it? The guitar can offer access to learning beyond becoming a professional performer, or even an accomplished musician. It builds confidence, provides an avenue for expression, and can help dramatically shape fine motor skills.  Taking this into consideration, recent experiences have shown the guitar to be a powerful tool to help youth with disabilities. We have found great success in both private and classroom settings, and believe that guitar education in schools need not be limited to the general population.  Here we will delve into the benefits, both physical and mental, that working with all students as a guitar educator can provide. With insights from occupational therapists, parents, and student success stories, we will examine useful methodologies and alternate pedagogical approaches to teaching guitar to students with all learning styles from ADHD to Autism.
